Just wonder how you guys are being affected by the oil? I'm sure the news agencies are not giving us the entire story. I pray for you guys and hope the spill is contained soon. It's a terrible situation. Good luck to you all.

I'm lucky. I'm not on the seafood or oil/gas business. So far just the inconvenience of not being able to get seafood as easily or cheaply as before. Those fisherman are hurting for sure.

I'm in Pensacola and really worried. Not much we can do. Sucks big time!! Maybe we bring "The Blues" in with after burners and set the shi#t on fire??

Being in Texas, I don't have to worry about the oil coming on shore, but being in Houston, I'm concerned about the economy here. Obama says he wants to create jobs but by killing all offshore drilling, there are going to be a lot of people in Houston losing their jobs.

To steal a quote from someone else, "Just because a plane crashes, it doesn't mean we are going to stop flying planes"

It was a big F'up on BP's part but that doesn't mean you have to stop all offshore drilling. To us that's like saying a guy died somewhere on a Harley so we can't ride ours anymore.

I'm closer to Mexico than I am to Louisianna, so nothing here yet but a hurricane could change everything

It's really a sad day - this morning there are reports of oil tar ***** washing up in Pensacola, soon that will stretch down the coast and possibly to the east coast. I love my state and it saddens me deeply to see what is on the verge of happening to it. All we really have are our shorelines, beaches and fishing which are all about to be damaged for many years to come. The worst part of the whole thing is the feeling inside knowing no matter what you do it will not change what's about to happen.

Am I mad - what do you think. I have lived here all my life, I love everything about Florida especially the beaches and fishing and now that is about to be taken away and there is not a dang thing I or any of us can do about it. It just sucks.

Jheiser, I too love the panhandle area. I grew up in Bama and still visit the fl panhandle every year (thunderbeach). This year the spill had just occurred when we did Thunder. I always go in the Spring and planned to go this fall but who knows what things will be like by then. God bless you all along the coast.

My company has an office in Tallahassee and did quite a bit of business on the coast mainly with homeowners and it is tuff getting those people to spend money right now, everyone is scared about the future right now, and rightfully so.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the tragedy.

I don't want us to stop all offshore drilling. But there has to be better safe guards, more devices placed on ALL new wells so this can't happen again. Anything less is irresponsibility. But oil companies have been known to put profits first and have shortcuts in safety procedures.

This whole mess is very upsetting to me too and Im in Indiana. I hope they can get this problem stopped and ensure there will be a good clean up.

Get this:
"Louisiana isn't the only place that has shrimp," said British Petroleum rep Randy
Prescott. His office phone number is (713) 323-4093, email is
randy.prescott@bp.com. Give him a call or send an email! You can
tell him and BP they aren't the only place that has fuel for my car!
