My dealer installed the wrong model of the Smart Siern in my 07 bike. They installed the SS I instead of the SS II. I know this because I checked myself.
My question - Can i just trade the two devices out, or do i have to reprogram my bike to work with the SSII? I want to just pick it up and switch them out.

Yup. Done it myself.

The Smart Siren II has an antenna for the pager/reciever II.

 

So I can literally unplug the one and plug in the other device? Is that affirmative, no programming required?

Yhe Siren is triggered by the security system. There is no programming. The only difference between the Smart Siren And the II is the antenna and transmitter for the pager.

Yes you can just unplug one and plug in the other!

Thanks for the information. Off to the dealer tomorrow I will go with the SS I in hand and asking for the SSII as a replacement.
