Default rear floor boards, get all chrome or covers?

Hi, i want to get chrome rear floor boards for my 07 electraglide, can anybody help me ? i would like to know , should i get new chrome boards or just the chrome covers? i dont mind paying the price for a new set of chrome boards but will the chrome hold up over time? how far back in model years can i go ,because i whould like to find a set that are older because i think the chrome is just better. or i could get just the covers and when they start to look like crap i could get new ones what are your thought`s? Bill

If you look at my signature picture, my '07 Ultra has chrome covers over
the rear footboards. The covers envelop the boards. It's cheaper, looks
just as good.

Covers offer more variety on appearance...The chrome boards are just smooth and you see the Rubber from the floor board inserts that stick out the bottom. This is covered with the covers.

Me too - go with the covers. I've got'em on my '09 FLTR and they look great.

I went with the actual boards themselves. Just a personal choice, covers are the cheaper way. Especially if you get tired of the design or lack there of. IMO
