Cool Kuryakyn Adjustable Passenger Pegs mounting issues.. WTF...

Guys,
Bought a set of these pegs and the HD mounting rail is to wide to accommodate the width of the slot on the pegs. I talked with Soos and he said he had seen it before, and the quality control on these HD rails and with powder coat it sometimes makes them to wide and i might have to file the HD passenger pad rail to fit them. Just wondering if anyone else had run across this? What did you do? Alway somethin' mounting after market....
Thanks I.A. Tim... :-)..
I bought at swap...Guy said he took off his 05..I have a 04 flht

The '07 and newer bikes take a different one than older bikes. Which ones do you have? Kury part # for '06 and older is 7926, part number for '07 through '09 is 4571. I know this because I initially bought the wrong ones too.

I just got them for my ultra also, and they fit fine but
they are made for the year specific and i guess it is
for that reason. Good luck

Don't get distraught yet -- maybe is just a year-specific thing (don't know, mine fit fine) and my OL loves the ability to change her ride/foot position.

It would appear that you have the wrong ones for your bike. Swap meet guy told you they came from his 05, but he could have been simply pushing a sale, he may not have had any idea what bike they actually came off of.

HD adjustable passenger mounts are different as well as SE mounts. I too found out the hard way but my better half loves these.

Can't really tell if you have the right ones just by looking at the pics. If they really did come off of an '05 they should fit your bike. I can't remember if the newer model bikes have a smaller rail or a larger rail, I THINK it's a larger rail, which doesn't explain why these don't fit (you would think that if you had the 4571's they would be too loose). If I were you I would take them apart and take them to a dealership near you just to see what they WILL fit. Then you might know what you have. Seems to me that the powdercoat would have to be really thick to cause a fitment issue, I doubt if that's the problem.
