Default Amsoil Severe Gear?

Anybody using Amsoil Severe Gear 75-140 in their 2009 2010 FLHX tranny, and if so did you install it at the 1000 service mile interval? I ran it in my evo with excellent results but that was a tried and true 5 speed. Thanks

I am running it in mine. I have had it in there since the 5000k service. I don't think it quiets down the 5th gear whine as much as some others. The dealer put in Bel Ray 85-140 at the 1000 mile service and I thought that was quieter. I have no complaints with it though. Shifting is smoother.

Thanks Todd, I don't have the gear whine in my 2010 but I was concerned that it may be too heavy for the 6 speed. I'm going with it as well. Thanks, Rick.

Yes with the 10 you don't have that concern. If you poke around in the oil threads I think you will find more than not seem to run the heavier gear oil in the 6 speed over the 20-50.

But can't you run it with a 5 speed as well?
If not then how come?
Thought it would be good for the summer in Fl'

I'm using the Amsoil 75-140 in my '05 RK with no probs. Seem to find neutral easier when cold also than with the redline, just might be me though.

I put AMSOIL 75-140 in the tranny of my 09 UC at the 1000 mi service and am very pleased with the result. I'm at 5k now and will use it again. Really made shifting smoother and eliminated the 5th gear whine that had developed when riding two-up with the engine loaded. Even reduced the clunk going into 1st, though it's not gone altogether.
