Luggage rack wont fit hardware
I have a 07 Street Glide with a Two-Up Luggage Rack Hardware part# 53804-06 I also have the Detachable Two-Up Luggage Rack part # 53743-97. The problem I am having is the luggage rack will not fit on the hardware. It seems that the rach is not wide enough to fit over the black rear docking point.
Has anyone else had this problem?
The dealer instaled the docking hardware.

Check to see if there are washers installed inboard of the rear docking points/bushings. Your problem may be there are too many washers installed, widening the bushings too much for the latch mechanisms.
Easy fix; remove the allen head bolt securing the bushing, remove a washer, and reinstall the bushing and bolt.
If there aren't any washers installed inboard of the bushing, the rack may simply need to be spread a bit to install.
How far off is the fit?
Good luck with resolving your problem.

The bushing itself is machined aluminum (?) with a plastic sleeve, but flat on the ends. If there's a washer there, it can be removed and the bolt reinstalled using blue locktite. Be careful when reinstalling the bolt; I don't recall since it's been several years, but the hardware may have included longer bolts that my reach the fender. Other than a bolt reaching the fender and damaging the paint, don't know of any other problem.
If the rack can be installed by applying pressure to spread the back of the rack for the latches to engage, I'd probably call it good.
