Although a Stage 1 with a good set of pipes may seem like a great improvment over stock, a 103" done properly is no comparison...... Like comparing apples and oranges. A 103" properly done is a 103", not comparible to a stock in any way. I get a little upset talking of this as you do a couple simple upgrades and soon count youself in the same category... We've already done those upgrades - no offense but do your research before discounting the 103" as merely pipes and an air cleaner.......

I agree with you and was by no means implying they were the same. My brother has done the 103 on the last three bikes he has owned and it is a great improvement for sure. The number one thing my brother tells folks is that the 103 pulls like a son of a gun and you can twist the throttle without down shifting and it will go. All I am saying is that I have noticed the same improvement with these modifications I have done. Is it equal to a true 103 upgrade? Of course NOT!

Some of us don't care to go into a perfectly good motor and for those I'm simply sharing my results.

Thanks for pointing out that my orange is not as good as your apple.

Happy riding

I've got Bassani's also and they came with the 2 1/2" baffles which are nice and loud. I changed them out to the 2" baffles though cause I work nights and come home early in the morning and have to climb a hill to get home. Wanted to make a quieter climb up. Anyway, the 2" baffles still produce a nice tone and she still runs great.

Thanks for the information Geezer.

I see the 2 inch baffles in my future also.

As for looks they are the best quality finish I have seen on an exhaust system.
