Default Transmission Dipstick: Cut or Uncut?

Is your 6 Speed dipstick cut or do you prefer to live on the edge?

My dipstick is cut, but isn't that a personal question?

Well, at least this preference is left up to us and not our parents!

I voted "why the hell would I" since I have no idea what you're talking about!

What are we talking about? Is there a problem with the Dipsticks being too long?

Someone fill me in please!

The dipstick rubs the casting for the clutch cable on the inside of the transmission (on some bikes). The vibration of the motor causes the dipstick to eventually break off into the trans either being chewed up or locking the trans thus locking the rear wheel at speed.

Do a search on google or here. You can look down in the dipstick hole and see the bump sticking out and you can look about halfway on your dipstick and either see a worn or discolored place where it will eventually snap off.

I cut mine off so that all that I have is a cap and I have a spare to check the fluid level.
