RE: 06 SG Totaled; 06 or 07?
ORIGINAL: Pearl Glide
I always stay away from first year, new release models, but I like the idea of a 96" motor and 6 speed. Plus you get the 170 rear tire on the 07s. But you can build a 95" and add a 6 speed to an 06. If your insurance does you right, I would get the 07 unless you get a "Great" deal on an 06. Do all those mods before you take deliver to get it covered under the factory warrenty.
Wait, I just looked at your pics, that bike can be fixed!!! Ha, made ya laugh. Fight your insurance if they say it's repairable. Short of a low speed fall in a parking lot, don't let um fix a bike.

RE: 06 SG Totaled; 06 or 07?
I am also considering a Street Glide and I am having a hard time deciding between an 06 or 07. I was at a dealer today and was told that if i wanted to put true duels on a bike find a left over 06 because if I put them on an 07 the warranty would be void. I don't know why he would of told me this unless it was true because he had no 06's in stock and I was going to put a deposit on an 07 that is due in this week. He even did a search on the computer and gave me a list of dealers that had the 06 left overs. What do you guy's think? I have a 02 EG Classic now with a carb and love it so much I am going to hang on to it.

Total B.S [sm=WTFsgign.gif] . It doesn't matter what year HD you have. If you change something and attempt to make a warranty claim that directly resulted from the modification the MOCO will most likely tell you to pound sand. However, it is pretty difficult for them to deny a claim for squeeking brakes or a bad passing lamp on the addition of an exhaust system, air filter, and ecm download. I don't know why he would tell you that. My dealer is installing exhaust systems and air filters everyday on new 2007's and they are not warning about warranty issues at all.
