Default 2010 Street Glide

Frist Harley. Ok at 1000 mile had stage one installed. Had Screaming eagle nightstick 2 into one installed. After 740 miles crome on end of pipe turning brown. Is motor running hot. taking to shop This weekend. Is this common? Dealer installed charged 150 to Hook up with Harley. Turning brown around disk on end, and right were it bolts to two into one.

stage 1 without efi adjustment is most likely the issue. at stock the bike is a dog. left mine alone until 4k, then change to hd SE air filter (stage1 ?), bub7 2-1 and tts tuner. used the standard tts map for the change and bike runs great. at 7k now.

Where is the chrome dis-coloring exactly? The 2010's run hot but not hot enough to dis-color chrome on the muffer. The head pipe will dis-color for sure, but not the muffler unless something else is seriously wrong.

+1 a muffler turning brown is not anything that should be happending. If the head pipes are changing colors, that is heat releated. I would take that in for the dealer to take a close look at that.

Mine is doing the exact same thing and all I've done is put the Nightstick on. No other mods. Its is discoloring where the exhaust gases come out thru the diffuser discs. These manufacturers have never had to make any chrome to stand up to the heat generated by the catalytic converter which can exceed 1400 degrees.

been running my SG with a nightstik since spring, approx 4000 miles. the only thing thats discoloring is the endcap which is not a surprise to me. Got a jackpot 2/1 headpipe sitting on the bench in the garage waiting for me to put on, heading to the shop today to pickup flange gaskets so I can install tomorrow am. Still waiting on my S&S aircleaner to show up then it's off to the tuner.

My endcap and discs discolored on my Nightstick, but I didn't care. The chrome on the muffler body looked fine!
