HD mike ambient noise sensitivity...help...
I have a 2010 SE Ultra and use the new half helmet HD mike and ear phones that hang on your ears. My rider uses the mike on her helmet that came with the bike.
My exhaust is relatively loud (D&D FatCat with Quiet baffles) and therefore I have given up on trying to use VOX for the intercom. The exhaust just kicks the mike on at the slightest acceleration, even when VOX is set to 1 bar. I'm OK since I prefer to use the PTT button so I have turned the VOX off.
My issue is that the background noise (exhaust) when the PTT is activated is extremely loud and almost drowns out the stock mike. There doesn't seem to be the same background loudness when the audio is going from my helmet to my rider.
Is there any adjustment available to lower the sensitivity of the stock mike so it doesn't pick-up so much background noise in the conversation?

I don't use VOX on my H-D for several reasons. One is the problem you describe with ambient noise pickup. I can set it so that it works most of the time, but not always. The other big reason is that I might say something that I don't want anyone else to hear. Using the PTT always, eliminates both problems.
