Unhappy Rinehart True Duals Install Problem on 08 Street Glide

I just finish installing Rinehart True Duals on my 08 Street Glide. The problem that I have is that I cant get any type of socket or wrench on the lower nut of the rear pipe to torque specs. Im adding the SEAC and thundermax autotune. Any help would be appreciated.

1/2" stubby wrench will get in there.

I think you will find this setup will not work for you. There are three threads other threads on this topic right now. Good Luck.

I've got the '08 Street Glide with true duals. I didn't put them on myself, I had an off-duty Harley wrench do it for me, but he didn't seem to have any problem putting them on. So I've got to disagree with the poster above me that says this set-up won't work for you.

Dawg has given you the answer you seek.

I'm running the same pipes on my RK and had the same problem. A short stubby was the answer.

No, true duals will work although they hurt engine performance. What does not work is true duals with an autotune. I tried the Zipper ThunderMax. They also seem to not tune well with the PCV if one other thread is correct. Oddly this week there are three other threads that popped up with people having problems and I'm not the only one saying it didn't work. I think there has been enough time now that dyno guys can get the things tuned but the guys down in Naples couldn't get it done. I tried SERT and a dyno tune before trying ThunderMax. The best thing I ever did for my bike was get rid of the True Duals. YMMV.

Why do people always say true duals hurt your performance? It's not true, compare a dyno of a strictly stock bike with one that's got a Stage 1 with true duals and both HP and TQ numbers are higher than stock. Granted, there isn't as much low-end torque as with a 2 into 1, but it's still 15% better than stock, so how is this "hurting performance"?

Wondering why you would say this? I have thundermax autotune on my RG with SE air cleaner and true dual bub 7's with no issues of running, power, or mileage. I agree with the above post that the true duals may not make as good of torque as a 2-1 but I don't think that a set of TD loose power compared to stock.

Anyone know if true duals make same or less power than stock headers w/ slip-ons while we are now on the topic?

Here try this site out from what i hear there is some truth to true duals vs 2 to 1 i am no expert but 2 to 1 will give you better numbers at low end and true duals at high end the majority of us ride at low to mid range. But i hacve heared 2-1-2 is even better then both but everyone has there own preference but go to this site seems to explain it pretty good

While it's true you may lose a little bottom end torque with true duals, I have never been able to feel the difference. I just put V&H true duals on my '08 Street Glide and had them on my '03 EG Classic as well. The exhaust sound difference is worth it in my opinion which is why I did it as well as clean up the right side of the motor (with the proper chromework of course)
