In March I bought my 1st Bagger a 2013 Ultra Limited. Still have my 2004 Wideglide. I keep the Limited in Vero Beach and love it for long rides, the radio, bags and even the windshield (things I never thought I would want). I keep my Wideglide at my gf's in the keys. Still a great Bar hopper Nice power , sound with wind in your face and bugs in your teeth! I didnt trade the wideglide due to its worth alot more to me then what they would give me.
Im loving the Limited and putting a stage on on very shortly. parts are in transit.

I'm active duty Air Force overseas in Germany and recently bought my first HD. Should be here in January 2014...hopefully. A '14 STS in Amber Whiskey. I've owned only sport and sport-touring bikes until now, but I knew it was a good time to make the change. I just got an email for my build date (November 27th)

Thread started by me in May of 2010 update.
I first asked the question of when did you buy your first Harley Davidson touring motorcycle when I first bought mine back in 2010 with a white ice pearl/black ice pearl Street Glide.
I have now bought a 2014 Ultra Classic Electra Glide that is Candy Orange on Sept. 30th with the 6.5" upgrade touch screen.
I really love the extra space in the tour pak and also the navigation on the touch screen. I also like how the saddle bags can be opened with one hand.
I did not like the recall, seeing how I was having issues one day before Harley Davidson issued the recall when I picked up the bike for it's first service.
The next day I went out of state for 5 days and the first day I am out of state Harley Davidson announced a Safety recall.
All worked out ok, and I returned after my trip and had the recall fix completed without incident.
Please continue with your stories of your first time buying a HD touring motorcycle.

1st Harley for me!
Should have done this a lot sooner... Love the storage of the Classic with the Tour pak and with the quick detach for it and a SG seat I can change personalities in 5 min. The ride is great and I would have to think long and hard about giving it up after 5000 miles this year.

Started out on Harleys with a new 2000 Sportster 1200 Custom, then upgraded in 2004 to a Fatboy. Rode that for 9+ years, and was never really excited about anything new that Harley was putting out UNTIL I laid eyes on the 2014 Street Glide.
Just had to have one.... So I bought the SGS. I keep telling myself I should have jumped into the touring bikes sooner, but, then I probably would have held off on buying a 2014. I absolutely love all the upgrades and subtle differences they put into the 2014's.
I have no regrets!!

The 2014 Limited is my first Harley Touring machine. I had a 2002 Fat Boy before that. It's not my first touring machine though. I had a 1990 BMW K75RT before the Fat Boy.
This new bike is by far the best riding/handing bike I've ever owned. Loving it!
