This is my first H-D, purchased new in Sep. '09. I previoulsy owned metrics, the last one being a 1300 cc cruiser. I couldn't be more happy with the Road King Classic. I've put 3K miles on it now and am looking forward to a great season. The wife loves it as well though I had to buy two replacement seats before she was satisfied. She wasn't happy with the stock seat or the Sundowner passenger seat, both of which I liked as a driver but she had issues with. She's happy now with a Mustang passenger seat so all is well.

This is my first H-D. My last bike, which I still have, is a 98 Honda Shadow ACE Tourer. It is their version of a Road King. Windshield, dual side by side mufflers, hard bags, floorboards, the works. I bought my 04 EGC about 3 weeks ago and have fallen in love. My wife says it is the most comfortable bike she has ever been on. She is even talking about taking trips on it where she would never think of doing that before. The previous owner bought it new and had the big bore kit and Bub True Duals installed before it ever left the shop. It is in immaculate condition and I feel I got a great deal.

Just hit 750 miles on my new 2010 Road King Standard (Red hot Sunglo). This bike is my first HD touring bike and I bought this one with ABS brakes and cruise control. Boy is that crusie control nice! Previously owned a 2008 HD Super Glide Custom and a 2005 Kawasaki Nomad. The Nomad had a wide reputation of being the "Cadillac of the cruisers". It was a super ride in deed, but I must say the new 2010 Road King is holding its own on all measures and may become my favorite owned bike! It is sweet.

Perhaps the operative phrase in the subject line is "for the first time".
Then again, not everyone in this forum section rides a "Touring Harley"....yet.
Back on topic....
First tourer I rode was also my first Harley. 2000 RK, bought new off the floor in '00. Prior to that was a metric for 2 years (to prove to myself that I wanted to ride again). For 15 years prior to that I didn't ride because of a nasty spill in '83.
