I just took delivery of my tourer on Thursday of last week. A 2007 RK Police. Got lots of plans for this bike. It's been raining on and off since I got it so I have only been out on it for short times. I am looking forward to this season.
Graduated up from an '04 1200 Sportster to an '08 Street Glide on 3/12/11. So far I've clocked 800 miles and enjoying every minute of it. I need to stay out of these forums though, already put a Bub 7 true duals system, Fuel Moto PC-V, SE Air breather and a bunch of chrome stuff. Just ordered a Hawg Wired Double Shot sound system today. The more I read the more I want to add :-)
Just got this 2000 RK a couple of months ago. I love it. I thought it would be too heavy or 'too much bike', but it's worked out great for me and I don't really 'tour'.
Had a 1955 Harley KHK in 1959, had a '74 Harley with suicide clutch/hand shift in 1960, over the years had a BMW, Yamaha XS11 and more recently two Goldwings, just got this 2006 Ulta Glide and loving it...family says I'm now too old to ride but not gonna let that stop me!
For the past 9yrs I've been riding this.....well, guess you could call it much riding since I put 5K miles on it that time. I rode Harleys most of my life before. I recently found my way back. The next picture is the one I just took delivery on this week. So to answer the question, yes first time on a touring bike.
