Who is riding Touring Harley for the first time?

Been off 2 wheels for about 5 years, an 05 Buell. Just picked up an 03 RG with tour pack. Took the wife out that night and just about every night since, she loves it. I like that I can pull the tour pack off and swap the seat to the solo that came with it and commute to work.

Yes, it was harder on the Buell! The center of gravity is much lower on the Road Glide. I’m surprised she had the confidence to hop on that big bike!

First touring bike but not my first HD
I traded my 13 Black-line for a 18 ultra limited low and sure wish I’d gone with the big boy sooner. The ride is just unbelievable. The weight and brakes took a little to get use to (still am lol) but wow the smoothness is fantastic
picked the black line up in red rock Harley and rode Nevada for 5 years. Always felt beat up after a few hours. Now ride all day and still feel accelerated heart pumping good. The ole lady likes it a whole lot more too.

My Street glide is my first touring bike. My first Harley was a 883 sportster, my wife would no go for a ride on it as she is on the larger side. When I got my Heritage softail she went riding with me a few times and then she learned to ride the sportster, so we each had our own bikes. Now she has a Triglide and I have the New street glide and I haven't ridden anyone on the back as of yet. We can also go on much longer rides without get wore out.

My '11 Classic is my 2nd touring bike. Before that it was Dynas, choppers, and Softails...and one Sporty for a spell. My 1st bagger, (a 2003 Ultra Classic ) was purchased two years ago. That bike greanded on the way up to Laconia, prompting the purchase on the '11.
I couldn't stand baggers until I started going on long rides with friends that all had touring bikes. I was riding my '03 Wide Glide on a lot of trips, and it wasn't really set up for touring....so on to the baggers....They are great at what they are designed for.....
As much as I love the EG...latley, I've been thinking to switch back to a Dyna or something else and set it up proper for touring.
I'm just crazy....since I now have my FXR ( which i'll never get rid of), for barhopping and local riding....it would make sense to keep the EG...Latley i'm really going on one maybe two "touring" trips a year if i'm lucky...
I wish I was doing multiple plus 1k distance touring trips each year but the reality is i'm not, so IDK...
I finally got my EG the way I like it and i'm thinking of doing something different!!!!

September saw me trade in the 1200 Sporty and picked up my 2017 Ultra with 162 miles on it...total bargain!!
IT now has 4100 miles on it and has already done France, Spain and Andorra
2 days riding across the Pyranees was an introduction to some serious hairpins....go big or go home
