Congratulations! Welcome to the 'club'! About 6 weeks ago I got my first bike in 36years. Last one I had I sold in 1981 or 82 but I always kept my endorsement on my license because I just knew that someday I would ride again. .....
Be safe..
You were smarter than me. I let my endorsement lapse in 1984 and had to get it all over again in 2014. I made the ugly discovery that California had made the test far more difficult than before with a very difficult riding exam. Rented a Honda 250 and practiced all morning, went down and passed the test. I was utterly exhausted when that ordeal was over, but sure was glad to get that CM-1 again!
To synch in with this thread, I love my 2018 Road King -- my first true Touring bike!
Just picked up a 2010 ultra limited. I have been riding a 09 sportster and a 98 fatboy. I am looking forward to a little more storage and comfortable ride.
Thought I posted here in Feb but guess I forgot, getting old is a bitch. Traded my 07 FXD for an 07 FLHTCU in Feb and glad I did. I bought the FXD in 2013 after not riding for 25 years, now I want to do some longer rides so I bought the Ultra. When I bought it, it had a new SE110 motor with 1200 miles on it, new clutch and new trans, still getting use to it but I have put 2400 miles on it so far and love it, first touring bike, second Harley.
Well...you and I were born on the exact same day and year. I just rolled 61 on my personal odometer. Sincere congrats on your excellent birthday 'gift'. I WILL be watching for that beautiful green UL when I pass through Illinois!
Well Happy Birthday to US then. Wave when you get to I-80 Illinois I'm about 6 miles south off Calumet ave.
Just bought my first Touring Bagger, 2017 Road King. My wife and I rented an ultra classic and did 1215 miles in 3 days. When we got back I traded my 11 Fat Boy in for the Road King. Wasn’t ready for the full fairing, but wanted the hard bags and adjustable suspension. Love every part of my bike!
The last bike I owned was 25 years ago, a Suzuki 750. I bought a 2005 Road King last September and I am loving it!
Welcome back! I got back on this spring after 36 years absent a bike. Last was a 750 Honda Super Sport I bought new in '79😳. Always knew I'd eventually get a Harley. I'm lovin' it too! Be safe and ride on 😎
