I just bought a 2008 Ultar Classic today! It's a lot deferent then my other Harley!
I had a 1979 sportster and I have 1987 FXRC (still have it 25 years now) had a 2006 Street Bob had a 2004 Heritage and l also currently have a 2002 Softail Standard.
But this Ultar is going take some getting use to. It feels like it's pulling a trailer. May need to turn some screws on it. To get some more low end torque. I'm a bit surprised the 96" is not stronger. Not that I was expecting a drag bike or anything. It has Rinehart true dual exhaust other then that stock I think? 26k mile.
Any suggestions?

I’m not a Harley guy.
My choice of bikes has always been a source of much amusement to my great group of riding friends this last forty years.
When we were kids they all had Honda 250s (this is England), I had a Kawasaki S1 triple, then a Ducati desmo 250.
When they had Suzuki GS550s I had a 500 Triumph.
When they all went to Kawasaki big fours for decades I went through a bewildering series of Yamaha XS650, Moto Guzzi Le Mans (twice), Yamaha XS750,Ducati 860GT, Honda KZ750, Honda VFR750K (seven years of perfection), all sorts of machines.
Then I settled down with a Triumph Trophy 900, the first model, for 12 years. What a lovely musical thing, a bike which made me smile when I started the engine and the smile was still there when I turned it off. I changed that for the upgrade Triumph Sprint 950. It wasn’t musical and didn’t make me smile.
A Honda CB1300SA next alongside a Kawasaki KH400 S3, poles apart.
Then a Ducati 748 alongside the S3, oh my poor back, riding that Ducati was like being lightly beaten with baseball bats with a vague promise of half an hour on the nudist beach at San Tropez.
Next I got a 1200 Sportster. Return of the smile. A glorious engine that feels like it could take you to Berlin and back and just shrug off the flak.
The 748 and S3 went to fund a Z900 restoration last year, and what a wonderful and slightly scary thing it is. Big smile. Not quite as mad as the S3 but probably more likely to have me die of fright on the Isle of Man.
Now an Electra Glide Classic alongside the Z900 and Sportster. Permanent smile.
But I’m not a Harley guy, despite what all my friends, family, colleagues, and fellow riders are saying.
I’d write more but the sun is shining and I’ve got a Harley to ride.

Just bought a new to me 2012 FLHTK ultra Limited with 16k miles. I came from metrics and still have 3 of them in the garage
My friends told me that the cheapest thing about owning a Harley was the bike. They were right. I had bought slip ons, leather pouches, lowering kit, and lower windshield before I had even put my first 100 miles on it.

One year now since I got my first touring, a 2001 RK. At 61 years old it was good timing.
I used to have Super Glides for many years and this touring bike is a bit different but I really like it. After riding it, doing drills, and taking a course over the last year I am really confident in my riding the RK.
