Default '14 Limited amber over silver

Snow still on the ground and the new bike's been in the garage over 24 hours. Last bike was bought new, 1986 Yamaha Venture Royale. Then two kids, spouse still happy so might as well test that with a new Limited. I know better than trying the old leathers on. Like Mr. Incredible squeezing into his old super hero suit.

Sold my 07 Heritage two and a half years ago. Just bought a new Road Glide. My wife is more excited than I am. She picked it out. I wanted blue, she said red. Mysterious Red sitting in the garage. Wonderful woman. Wonderful ride.

Went from an '08 R1 to a '14 street glide.

The extremes of acceleration, braking, and turning that the R1 was capable of sure was a lot of fun but the Harley is so much nicer to be on for the 99% of the time you're not at the extreme.

Went from an 09 Kawasaki VN900 Custom to a 08 Road King Classic. Physically the same size, but seat is wider, bars are spread farther apart and weighs almost 200 pounds more. Gives the impression that the bike is physically larger than the 900. Going to take a little bit of time to get used to it. But I like it, I like it allot.

3 weeks into owning my first Harley tourer.... '15 Ultra Limited Low.
Came from a 2007 Road Star Silverado.
I wish the weather would break enough to get some real riding in.

My '47 Knucklehead was my first Harley. It was not a touring bike per say, cause any bike you owned then was a touring bike. It was a hard machine to love. Then I got a '42 Flathead. It was more reliable and did not leak oil. But unrefined. Of course, I was unrefined as well so I did not know the difference.

Then, my world changed. In '64 I got my first sportster. Fun to ride, reliable, my right leg was twice the size of my left leg. After that, a shovelhead FLH, the evo FLHS which was my first "touring" motorcycle and I have never looked back. While I keep a sporty in the garage, it is merely used as a time machine to transport me back to rural Maine in the 60's and 70's. The current, '10 Road King is such a delight I would have to consider that it is my FIRST HARLEY TOURING bike. Oh, after my divorce, rather than not ride, I rode everything 'cheap' including metrics and I had a lot of fun and met the greatest people, sort of a new "You meet the nicest people on a Suzuki!". I am embarrassed to say, that right after the divorce and sleeping on a borrowed air mattress that leaked, I did ride a '80 Honda. I'm sorry, but it was the best I could scrape up was $ 200.00. I bought it under a tarp at a garage sale. I was looking for a mattress and bought the Honda 400 instead. Who needs to sleep anyway. That was between the FLHS, divorce and the FLHR. I do have a mattress now as well.
