This is my first tourer and my first Harley. I had a Yamaha V Star and was going to go with a Roadstar but then I realized that I wanted something I'd keep for a while that would keep my happy. I've wanted a HD for a long time and this would be my best opportunity to fulfill a dream. Deciding on which HD I wanted was another battle. I wanted a Fatboy since they first came out in 1999. But with age, I realized that I needed bags and to me, they just didn't look right. So I decided on a bagger.....then which bagger? Well that's another story for another time. Long story short, I ended up with a Road King

I decided a few weeks ago to pick up my first bagger even though I've wanted one for about a year now. Traded in my 883L for an 07 FLHX. I love every minute of the ride now. Now I just need a better seat so the OL is comfy on back.

I bought a 1997 Road King last fall with 7k miles to add to my 93 FXLR. Added a Corbin dual touring saddle and a leather tour pack. Gf and I love the comfort and storage space. Last weekend brought home 2 bushels of apples with no problem. Great fall ride.
Winter plans are an EV27 cam and ditching the MM efi for an S&S carb or Mikuni 42.
Ride safe!

Two months ago I transitioned from my 04 Fatboy to a 2012 SG. Echoing other comments, the highway cruising ride is phenominal. Set the cruise, crank up the FM, and simply enjoy the open road. I rode the Fatty last week for the first time in quite a while and I now compare it to a 70's muscle car in sound, ride, & handling while my Streetglide is akin to a Lincoln or Lexus cruising on the open highway. Two completely different (and uniquely enjoyable) rides. Think I'll keep'em both.

I fall into this category. Its not my first motorcycle but it is my first Harley. I've put over 100,000 miles on kawaski Vulcans but about a month ago I bought a 2015 roadglide standard. Just did my 1st service on it at a little over 1300 miles. So far I'm really enjoying this bike.

2014 SG is my first HD and touring. Road raced and motocross for years so been through lots of bikes. I've been pleasantly surprised at how well the bike handles. Didn't have any expectations on power but it handles much better than I expected.

Just so that you have the correct info,....the Fatboy was actually introduced in 1990. (I have a 1995, which is actually my first Harley)

I just bought my first Touring bike ('07 Street Glide) 2 months ago. Before purchasing it, I had never even ridden a bagger before. I think anyone who likes to ride more than 200-300 miles at a time, should invest in a Bagger.....or Touring bike.

I simply could not agree with you more!!! I love hopping back on the F/B after a long cruise on the S/G. It handles & hauls a$$ like the bar hopper I built her for. At the same time, I love riding the S/G after throwing the F/B around for about a week. That smooth comfy ride is everything I hoped it would be.
