Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, "Wow, what a ride!!!"
If tat's not a n ADAGE it sure as he!! should

Been riding bikes almost since i could walk... had been riding my BMW R1200gs as my sport/touring bike as i do some off road riding while traveling... decided i needed/wanted something more comfortable for longer rides... traded my 2011 FatBob in on s 2014 FLHTK, knew it was what i wanted, bought it with out even riding it... got 950 miles on it in the first couple of weeks, longest ride was 400 miles... love it, its everything i wanted in a touring bike...

Been riding for years but bought my first Harley about eight months ago. Didn't do alot of research in advance but knew I wanted a Roadking as I was riding a Yami Royal Star. My budget was 10K so I knew it was going to be an older bike and I was OK with that. I have never owned a new bike yet and have always gotten good deals on used bikes with no problems.
I came across a mint 99 RKC with FI, sinister blue pearl and decked out. My wife even said it was a beauti and should "go for it". Made an offer and got it for 8K.
Don't get me wrong, I love my bike and it currently runs perfect. What I have now found out over the past 8 months is 99 was the last for some things and in 2000 changes were made. For example, in 2000 you can buy an adapter to put a 150 fatter tire on the back. No so for 99. The fork lowers are different on 2000. 1984-1999 and 2000-2014 the same. MMI fuel-injection is basically obsolete on my bike and I'm just praying I don't have an issue.
In hinsight I wish I would have bought a 2002 or newer and spent closer to the 10k budget I had and got the Delphi FI, but I didn't know at the time or got a bike with a carb and 2000 or newer.
Ride on!
