Who is riding Touring Harley for the first time?

Signed the papers for a '09 Road King on 30 APR 2010. Not my first bike, but it is my First Harley. I still don't understand what took me so long to move to a tourer (previous bikes were rice rockets - 908cc Ninja, 750cc VFR). Yeah, the Ninja was wicked fast, but not very comfortable. Because of the fast part, my wife said she would never ride with me again.
The King is plenty fast (well... relatively speaking), but with the Heritage style handlebars and cruise control, I feel like I can ride for hours without much discomfort.

First Harley for me
I bought a 2007 Roadglide 3 weeks ago. I hae already rode it to bike week at Myrtle Beach and put on 1800 miles mostly 2 up. I recently had a Roadstar Silverado. It was a great bike but the Roadglide with its cruise control and radio make long trips so much easier. Its like going from a Cheverolet to a Caddie!

I bought my first Harley about a month ago. It's a stock '06 Road King and the best part is that it only had 1400 miles on it. For me it's like owning a brand new bike at a fraction of the cost for new. I'm 57 years old, been riding since I was 17, but not constantly....had a few too many long breaks over the years. Made my purchase decision after renting several different Harley's last summer and taking a long road trip on an Electra Glide Classic. That convinced me that I like the weight of a big bike and the comfort that goes with it. For me the Road King isn't as comfortable as the Electra Glide but I prefer the look. Now I need to made some changes to seat and handlebars to achieve ideal comfort on the RK. Enjoying the process but not the expense.
