Who is riding Touring Harley for the first time?
#92
Well It is really great to see all the stories of the first time Harley Touring Owners, Since I started this thread I see I forgot to mention that I just bought my first touring Harley this past February.
I had been riding a 2005 Heritage softail Classic which I customized and really liked a lot, but had been looking at a street glide for a long time and bought the White Ice Pearl\Black Ice Pearl limited paint scheme and just love it.
I have already put the Rhinehart true duals on mine and also a new seat, handlebars (Cyclesmith's 13 inch) which are a lot more comfortable than the stock bars, and also a Stage 1 kit with a Screaming Eagle Racing Tuner\Dyno to fine tune it.
Thanks for all the responses to my original post.....keep them coming!

I bought my first touring bike this year back in February. It was an up grade from the 2008 Ultra. The 2010 flhtk has ABS! the bigger engine, new frame, wider tires, power in the tour pack, and trim are just little bonuses. The 2008 was bought December 2007 to replace our wrecked RK. The RK was my first Harley, we bought it in December 2005 (honest hunny, I was looking for a bike for you when I came across this DEAL)!
I, oops I mean WE feel much better with ABS!
OK, the rest of the bike is pretty nice too.

Three weeks and about 1000 miles ago I bought my first Harley, a 2006 Electra Glide Classic with tons of chrome and extras (it's almost an Ultra.) That's because the day before my Yamaha V-Star 1100 Custom's electrical system died for the 3rd, and last, time. I can't believe I didn't do this years ago... BTW, 3 other guys in my Yamaha owners group also have similar bikes - we're turning into a Hog chapter instead!

I've only had 2 bikes, a Shadow and the EGC. The Shadow was nice, the EGC is awesome! It looks great, rides great, stereo, storage, the wife likes to ride now, best thing I ever bought
Plus when I would tell people I own a bike, they would say "Oh you own a Harley"......no a Honda........"OOHHH"

Started on an 89 Yamaha FZR 600 (19 years old) almost killed myself, geez i wonder why?? took a little break from riding..then it was a 95 Heritage Softail, to a 97 Dyna Wide Glide,(got that one from a salvage yard and rebuilt it..that was fun) to a 99 Sportster 1200 Custom, then after not having a bike for about 5 years, i "inherited" a 98 Fatboy from my father-in-law about 2 years ago...when i was at the dealer doing an inspection and picking up some odds and ends i needed to put it on the road i looked across the showroom and saw a pack of brand new Street Glides, i thought "well...well...well....what is that?"......
I bought a 2010 Street Glide last December, it is unlike any Harley I've ever owned, and it has totally changed the way i think about riding....
