Im going to hold on to this King for maybe 5 years, then going with a Street Glide or whatever is close to that at the time. Who knows, maybe even and Ultra! I already like the looks of the fairing, but wife didn't and since this new bike was to please us both...., I lost the fairing but got the hard bags that I wanted.

Yep! Old age brings discretion!
Love the look of no windshield, but hate the 'bugs-in-teeth' look worse!!!
Can't imigine 500 mile days w/o a windshield anymore!!

Have had scoots with windshields for awhile now and love them. My brother who rides a FatBob and his wife who rides a Sportster both put one on to get ready for out trip to TX. Back from our first ride after putting them on they both said the shields will stay on.

I too could never understand why anyone would want a windshield until the trip I took from Conneticut to central Maine, years ago on a bagger.Except for saddle sore felt amazingly good.No windburn,or loss of hearing. Now the only time the shield comes off is an occasional race.

I love the way my king looks when I take the passenger backrest and the windshield off. Bike takes on a whole new persona, but even around town I had to put ear plugs in for the wind noise. I got out on the highway and couldn't stand it. Turned around less than five miles from the house and put everything back on. That was end of last summer and I've not taken them off since.

When I first started riding, I felt like a motorcycle just should not have a windshield on it. I rode to Daytona, and all the other big rally's freezing my butt off, getting soaking wet and feeling like a real bad-***. When I got my first dresser....I realized what a windshield was for and have never been without one since, except for the Buell that (thank goodness) I was able to sell to some guy in California.

In 1999 bought my first new Harley, 1999 RKC had ridden it for months with windshield really liked it. A good friend was riding with me one night talked my into taking it off. We went a few miles when a bug about the size of a sparrow hit me right between the eyes. Put it back on and have not ridden without one since. Now have a 2010 SG with a std UC windhield, not cool but comfortable. Maybe its being 59?

Just use mine in cooler weather, if it looks like it might rain or if on a trip. I like buzzing around locally without. Bugs are full of protein!!!!!
