Don't EVER, I mean EVER put a windshield on your bike

Im going to hold on to this King for maybe 5 years, then going with a Street Glide or whatever is close to that at the time. Who knows, maybe even and Ultra! I already like the looks of the fairing, but wife didn't and since this new bike was to please us both...., I lost the fairing but got the hard bags that I wanted.

I love the way my king looks when I take the passenger backrest and the windshield off. Bike takes on a whole new persona, but even around town I had to put ear plugs in for the wind noise. I got out on the highway and couldn't stand it. Turned around less than five miles from the house and put everything back on. That was end of last summer and I've not taken them off since.

When I first started riding, I felt like a motorcycle just should not have a windshield on it. I rode to Daytona, and all the other big rally's freezing my butt off, getting soaking wet and feeling like a real bad-***. When I got my first dresser....I realized what a windshield was for and have never been without one since, except for the Buell that (thank goodness) I was able to sell to some guy in California.

In 1999 bought my first new Harley, 1999 RKC had ridden it for months with windshield really liked it. A good friend was riding with me one night talked my into taking it off. We went a few miles when a bug about the size of a sparrow hit me right between the eyes. Put it back on and have not ridden without one since. Now have a 2010 SG with a std UC windhield, not cool but comfortable. Maybe its being 59?
