Helmet styles poll for cold weather
Just a quick poll to see what other touring bike owners are using for helmets during the late season (at least in the northeast). Does anyone swap the half helmets for full face helmets?
I'm somewhat new to the half helmet and with my new SG I noticed going to work a few mornings ago that my face and ears were getting a bit cold even with 50deg air temp.
I've always had a full-face helmet with previous bikes and could easily ride into November assuming the roads were clear.
Just wondering how the rest of you deal with the chill. I do prefer the open helmets as I can actually hear traffic and enjoy the wind in my face.

RE: Helmet styles poll for cold weather
I switch from a half helmet to a 3/4, covers the ear area well, and I add a visor to it for the face. Also wear a lower face mask to block the chill. Tried the full face, but found them very uncomfortable and way too heavy for my liking. I also have heated grips, si I ride well into November, 50 miles each way to work.

RE: Helmet styles poll for cold weather
Half helmut - year round - March thru Novemeber - Wisconsin frozen tundra.
Even at 32F and 70MPH, no problem - face is cozy warm - no frostbite. Solution: 15" tall vented windsheild - check out my pics.
Crap, why are we talking about the cold season so soon [:@]
