I have a stock windshield that came on my dragonfly fairing...and it squeaks pretty bad...anything I can do to put between the windshield on the front and back where the shield and fairing fiberglass meet...Or am I the only one that has had this issue
Go to the hunting shop or to the sewing shop and get some sticky back felt.
Put it between the shield and the offending edge. Use a razor knife to CAREFULLY trim off the excess.
Problem solved, inconspicuous, cheap, fast.
+1-- also check that the shield rests firmly between the outer and inner fairing with no 'bowing', and check the mounting holes on the shield to ensure the capture grommets aren't riding hard up against the edges of the holes in the shield.
Bit of a mouthful but when you look at it it will make sense.
Had same problem with 04 EGC. I took an old note book backing and cut small strips, 1/2" wide and full length long and placed them en between the shield and rubber strip and problem gone. I just made sure the cardboard was down tad so as not to be seen. Did a buddys bike same way, but touched the edge of the cardboard with black felt tip marker to insure it would not be seen. It is free and you don't have to take the shield out for you just tuck it in and retighten it.
