Default Modify stock exhaust on 2010 Street Glide?

Picking up my "and the banks" 2010 street glide today. Was wondering if the stock muffler or exhaust can be modified any for better sound? In time I'm going to change the exhaust completely but for now I have to stay stock till I get the $$$. Thanks

Check out the V&H Twin Slash 2-into-1 slip-on if you catch a good sale or online retailer these can be had for $220ish. I bought one and ran it for a while before upgrading to the Vance & Hines 2-into-1 Pro Pipe. The best part was I sold the slip-on on eBay and made back most of my money I spent on it. In my case I was able to score the slip-on at a 40% discount just timing one of my local dealers big winter sales.

I have the Vance and Hines slip-on #16777 for 2 into 1 for sale. $120.00 plus shipping. Used for about 200 hundred miles. Went with 2 into 2 for look. Sound is great. Wish new exhaut sounded the same.

Your bike unfortunately as all of the HD 2010 models has the "catalytic converter in the headpipe" on it. You would be better off pulling the whole pipe, period and then you will have to get a fuel managment system like a Power commander V, and then a free flowing A/C. You would be doing yourself a favor by going through Fuel Moto a site sponsor and getting "a whole kit" that would include the aformentioned.
However as a result of doing this your bike will sound like a real Harley, run cooler and run as it should.
Aren't you glad you glad you asked?

Maybe it's just me, but my stock exhaust is sounding better the more miles I put on the bike. Of course it's not loud but the exhaust tone is definitely better. It would be cool to have a "sticky" or site with nothing but cataloged by manufacturer exhaust sound files to listen to.

Yes. Take out the cat and you'll realize a huge difference. Here's a pic of one cut in half:

Just bolted the slip-on. Nothing extra to buy. Several people on this site and several dealers I spoke with state as long as you do nothing to the intake, new breather, then no power commander or new downloads are needed.
