Question MP3 CD For an Ultra Classic

Please could someone tell me, when making a MP3 CD for my bike with a standard HD CD/Radio player should the files be in the root of the CD or should they be in sub folders i.e. by band or album say?

Thanks in Advance.

I just copy the songs I want from different CD's on my computer. I usually can get about 68 - 75 songs on a CD, or about 4 to 5 hours of music. Don't forget to record as a data disk, and not a music disk. Works great for me. Either the song title or group name will appear in the display. Another thing I do is to shuffle the songs before I record them to CD. Just my preference.

Hope this helps.

you can do it either way. though it won't really make much difference. when i burn my disk, the mp3s are in subfolders by album name. but the display does not let you change from directory to directory (album to album) like some mp3 players do. at least not that i can tell.

Jeez, only 75 songs? You must have the conversion set pretty high! Anything over 128kbs is kindof wasted on a bike (when you consider wind noise and what not). Hell anything over a 128 bit rate is kindof wasted with our hearing range for the most part.

As far as should be in the root or subfolders, either way is acceptable. I usually create the CD with my current favorite songs in the root, then folders for my other songs. Since I get about 135+ songs per CD, it's easier to find them when split out into 4-5 folders if I'm looking for a specific song.

Good point, I have a Sony deck.

I used the HK once on a rental (and brought my built CD's), and I thought it could sort between the different folders (categories maybe)?
