Default 07 FLHT Rear Tire Replacement

Hey Guys...looking to replace the stock rear tire for an upcoming trip on the '07 EGS and value all opinions.

Looking for a nice rider preferably wider than stock. To me the stock just looks too narrow.

Appreciate your input.

E3's compared to ME880? Getting conflicting information from what I'm reading. Are both of these the same width as the stock tire on the 07 EGS?

Stock tire yielded me about 17k before it was hit and it prolly had another 1-2k left on it. I then went to an Avon Venom and it lasted about 13k when cords were showing. I JUST installed the E3's after researching what everyone was running and I've only got 100 miles on them or so. I did get the 160/80 B16 for the rear and it did fit but it's pretty snug in there with all the air out of my shocks to test it out. We'll see how it performs. It does look pretty sweet but bring on the rain, heat other fun weather to really put them to the test.

The MU90-16 is the right size for your bike, about .06" wider and .01" taller than stock. Some install the 160-80-16 but it is designed for a 3.5" rim (3.0" is stock), and because of this and the $40 higher price-tag I'll stay with the MU90 rear, MT90 front. I did some measurements and found that it doesn't fit if you use Dunlop's specs, but I think because people are mounting it on a narrower rim it is reducing the tire's width at the sidewall.

great information iclick...can anyone, that has the 160-80-16 installed, shed light on any problems that they've experienced. I've had a couple guys that have been riding behind me comment on the thinness of the back tire. It would great to get some width but i don't want to compromise safety..

Thanks for the input so far...

got 500 miles on my new e3"s heres my take, they feel like they have a stiffer sidewall handling is much improved dont follow grooves or tarsnakes, better road feel, little harsher ride but not enough to complain about.let ya know about milage in hopefully 18000 miles from now.
