I only got 11,000 out of my last rear tire... It maybe could have went another 2,000 but did not have to put tires on in the middle of summer.

E3 is the way to go. I have 10,000 miles on my rear tire now, with a lot of tread left. For me to get 11,000 miles out of a 402, I was really pushing it.

18,000 on my rear E3 right now, going to change it out after tomorrows trip to NC. I will end up getting 20,000 out of it. Unbelievable for a rear tire!!

Front tire isn't that bad but am thinking the best thing to do is to replace both back and front tires for the match. Good approach or not necessary?

It really isn't necessary. I ran a front D402 for about a year and the only downside was that I had to endure the groove tracking behavior on the front as long as it was there.

Don't be concerned. I've had the E3 rear, stock 402 front for about a year and a half.
No issues. I'll go with the MT, E3 if the damn front would ever wear out.

I went with the 160 E3 rear on my 07 FLHT and have had no problems. Like Iclick said, I think if I were to do it again I would just save the $40 and get the MU90B16.
I like the E3. I have only had them on for about a week but just got back from the Smokey Mountains and Deals Gap and they preformed much better than stock and held the road well in the rain. I have about 1k miles on them now

If you are going to order try Jakewilson.com ...best prices, and if you order 2 tires use code jw009 for another $20 off.

stock replacement:
Part # 1175040001 MT90B-16 (72H) Dunlop Elite 3 Bias-Ply Touring Front Motorcycle Tire
Part# 1200490003 MU90B-16 (78H) Dunlop Elite 3 Bias-Ply Touring Rear Motorcycle Tire
160 rear:
Part # 1200490004 160/80B-16 (80H) Dunlop Elite 3 Bias-Ply Touring Rear Motorcycle Tire

Thanks all...just ordered the MU90 and MT90 from JakeWilson. Even though replacing the front wasn't a necessity I hate battling the snake grooves in the payment and with the upcoming trip to TX decided to take the plunge for both front and rear.

Appreciate the input and look forward to the new rubber for the scoot. Ride safe all.

I ordered a set of E3's on Wednesday, and they showed up on Friday. 175 bucks to my door, can't be beat. I've got a few more miles left in my 402's so I probably won't be putting these on until later in the year.
