Newbie to the board here.
I shift into 6th at about 65 if I am headed for 70.
If staying around 60-65mph 5th is fine.

I tested this on my trip home on Tennessee going down 75. My street glide was pretty much only needing 5th gear above 70mph. I usually shift into 6th when 5th gear hits around 3,200 rpm.

Only if I'm going to be cruising consistently at 65 or higher.
