Well, two years later they're still selling the 550 and 600-series Zumos, so keep your fingers crossed. Once they stop production on a model that means in a couple of years there will be no support. I went through that with my old 450 and I'm hoping this 665 I have will last me another few years.

You can get most (admittedly, not all) of a Zumo's features on a Nuvi for a fraction of the price, and for $30 get a RAM mount.

After spending $500 on a Zumo only to have it go **** up after 2 years, I'll stick with a Nuvi. $150 at Costco for a Nuvi 2455, with lifetime updates.

I've been using my nuvi 750 since '07. When it gets wet it gets wet and still works. Got wet on accident a few times. Wen it rains hard I take it off and in my pocket it goes. Or just put a ziplock bag over it. Ram also makes a waterproof box but it is huge. I bought it and never used it.

For those of you wanting to upload HD shops go to poi factory. There are poi's for anything and everything!

I've been waiting for the price drop on the ZUMOs since my 450 is getting up there in age. I tried the 1450 for a resent trip to see if it would hold up.. Worked well for a few hundred miles, but then started to reboot itself after hitting some less then smooth roads. Guess I'm back to waiting for the price drop. I missed the MP3 player also. Luckily I brought my trusty 450 with me. Only locked up twice on start ups.

The only time it's tough to see is when the sun is directly on it, but I got a $5 GlareStomper shade for that.

I usually don't ride in rain, but if I do a 1 cent sandwich bag takes care of that .... if that solution isn't elegant enough for you RAM makes a waterproof cover.

While touring sometimes you have no choice but to ride in the rain. The baggie works well with a tyrap or a twist tie to keep it on. I use one on my XM radio too.
