71288-03A Chrome Fuel Tank Console Instructions
#2
See page 4-6 of your 2007 HD Service Manual. It's the same tank console as the SG, but with a different stick-on insert. The front is secured the same as your Ultra tank console with two screws under the fuel door; the rear is secured with the bolt securing the rear of the gas tank.
What do you plan to do with the rider headset connector plug on your Ultra tank console?

Carl,
I don't think there is room under the console. My thought is to relocate it with a L bracket under the tank. Using 3M trim tape for attaching the bracket to the tank. Or the other option: I'm running an 09 exhaust with the HD plastic heat shields So another possibility is to punch a hole in the left plastic heat shield and mount it there.

Check-out the installation instructions and parts list for the Boom Audio Music Intercom Kit, p/n 77108-09, on HD's website. It includes a rider headset harness that is designed for your application--it's what I have on my bike with the SG long tank console. Alternatively, you could simply extend the wires in your current headset connector (like guys extend wires for installing ape handlebars).
The metal clip in the BAMI kit that secures the headset connector to the tank console is not a separate sale part, but you might not need it (the kit uses 3M double-sided tape also) or fab your own.
Good luck with your project.

I wasn't suggesting you buy the BAMI kit. But perhaps the rider headset and harness from the kit could be purchased separately if you didn't want to mess with extending the wiring of your OEM connector.
Before this kit was introduced, SG owners were installing CB/Intercom by assembling their own parts to do so while retaining the SG tank console.
