Well I'm one of those guys without any common sense common sense. Come to think of it I was told all motorcycle riders lack common sense by other know it alls. I own three Harleys, only one has a windshield. That one is a 6 1/2 inch Klockwerks and keeps the wind out of my face on long rides. If I want to look through a windshield I'll drive my truck. After 700,000 miles and over 40 years of riding I caught a rock in the forehead at 70 m.p.h. summer before last. A truck in the opposite lane kicked it up, I saw it, but it was faster than I could react. You know what, it stung a little, bled a lot, and left a knot on my forehead for a couple of weeks. It wasn't the end of the world, and lacking common sense I still ride two bikes without windshields. Riding is about being out in the world. If you're afraid of bugs stay in the cage.

Last fall I was riding in the country a bit north of DFW, taking in the scenery. I was doing about 60 and had on a FF and jacket since it was a bit chilly. All of a sudden I can hardly see out of the right side of my helmet. I glanced down at my arm and there was a trail of white stuff. I looked up and saw a cowbird flying overhead. Frigging thing took a dump mid-flight and got me. A car-full of folks laughed as they went by hehe. Had to stop at the nearest quickstop shop and get some paper towels to clean off. Nasty to say the least, all down the right side of my helmet and body. Frigging thing must have saved up a good one for me.

Default Bee sting

I don't know if anyone has been stung by a bee while riding, but it happened to me one year, going about 40 mph on the country road when a honey bee made it right through the vent hole in the helmet and stung me right there. Had a big horn for a week.

Going through Glacier National park a few years ago it was about 98 degrees, me and my buddy decided to pull over take off the helmets and put on some shorts and tank tops (25 mph through the park) we got back on the bikes and started making our way through the park, coming up on a sharp corner I start feeling my leg stinging, as iam hitting the apex I look down and my whole thigh is covered in bees! Now keep in mind iam in the middle of this turn going approx 25mph and the road has tons of gravel on asphalt! I do not know how I keep from not wiping out but I made it through the turn and got pulled over, ended up with about 35 stings, needless to say I put my gear back on and sweated it out the rest of the day, lesson learned!

Been there...bee came up in my FF & zapped my chin on impact. Luckily I'm not allergic - could've been scary.

Dont know what it was, cause the wife got my shirt pulled up and it flew out. Riding in a t-shirt, flew up my short sleeve, stung me right in the armpit and several times on my back. Made the rest of the ride rather uncomfortable.

got hit a few years back in the neck, scared the S%$! out of me, had to pull over, couldn't tell if the blood was from me or the bug. Had to get home before it started to bruise, the wife would have never believed it was a bug mark.
