While I was changing my cams I did notice a little wear on the crankshaft where it rides in the brass bushing in the cam plate. It is not even and favors one half of the crank. I have heard many different run out specs and the manual states .010 when in the case and mine is at .008 but the wear is noticable. Depending on which manual you read these numbers are different. Also I have read that there are some Technical Bulitens out on this issue. What is a good reading what do the bullitens say?

That's too much run out for gear drive cams if that's the direction your taking. That crank would need to be straightened. BTW, spent the weekend out in your neck of the woods last weekend.
