Default Removing Right Grip (Throttle Side)

Ok, I normally don't deal with grips cause I hate grip glue. But I want to change my grips and was thinking about one of the Harley grips that are "glueless". Great, no problem with the left, just slice it off and clean up the glue residue.

But, I've not dealt with the grip on the throttle side before. So, is it just as easy as unscrewing the switch housing and opening it up and pulling out the grip? Or am I missing something? Is the grip even attached to the throttle housing? I tried to look this up in my service manual (09 with TBW) but couldn't find anything about this.

Ditto.
Just open the two switch halves and pull on the grip, it will separate from the grip sensor in the bar end. Even easier than the older style with two cables. As for the left grip, don't cut it off. Open the switch halves again. Just put on some work gloves to get a good grip and try rotating the grip back and forth starting at the end closest to the switches. There is very little glue holding it on and easy to break free, once started. You can then save both grips for the future.

2-screws and you're done. Hell, it might fall off if you're not careful.

And watch those little brass pieces on the ends of the throttle cables. Those little bastards have a way of disappearing if they hit the floor. Ask how I know.

It has TBW luckily that doesn't have 2 ltl bastards and it's very simple to swap grips then w/O TBW.

Just replaced mine last weekend. 2 screws to get the switch housing off but I could not get it separated enough to slide off so I had to just loosen the front brake lever to slide the grip off.

make sure you shim the brake lever with the head of a zip tie so you dont break the brake sitch other than that fairly simple i had to loosen the master cylinder clamp to the bars in order to spread the housing apart enough to slide the grip off

I forgot that shimming the brake lever and it cost me a few dollars to replace the brake switch. Other than that, easy money

I forgot the shim, split the rubber, lost the spacer that I assume was in the boot. the fix for me, put a small machine screw in the lever under the switch to make up the difference.
