Default Question on S.G.Saddle Bags

Anyone ever have a bag lid open while riding? I was riding the back roads of Mass this past week and came to a stop to notice that a bag lid opened up. Anyone ever have this happen or do you lock your bags all the time. Thanks

Sometimes a big bump will pop open one of mine. I got into the habit of just locking it.

Mine used to do it all the time but I've gotten in the habit of double checking that I actually closed the lid (I visually make sure that the lock is under the hold down clamps). Since I started doing that I've not had any problems.

Yep it has happened several times. Usually I believe it is when the backside two clips don't get fully engaged.

It happened to me once and it turned out the screws that were holding the hinge to the top of the lid were disappearing 1 by 1. Ended up bending part of the hinge and getting the whole thing replaced under warranty.

So its not just me or the bags. Thanks for the replies and I will have to keep an eye on the hinges when going in and out of them.

I've had the latch pop up again too if I didn't really get it pressed down into the closed position.

+1 on that as well. I pay particular attention when I close the lid that I have the two tongues fully engaged in the clips and I feel a slight snap when closing the latch. If I don't feel the slight snap I always trace it back to not having the clips FULLY engaged.
