I had spinal decompression therapy last October & had to trade in my '01 Duece. Sucks to be me though I picked up a brand new Street Glide did up the engine to compensate for the rocket I'd made of my Duece & most importantly from a back pain standpoint, added the hydraulic backrest from the MCO.

I rode about 50 miles on the new bike without the backrest & within 25 minutes I needed to stop. The next day after a massage I threw the backrest on & road for almost 250 miles. no pain whatsoever

It's taking some time to get used to the new ride but I'm excited about it.

The dyna has the best seat I can buy on it and is relatively comfortable but still aggravates it on rides say over 2 hours without stopping. I'm almost 52 years old and now am thinking I bought the wrong bike and should of gone with a touring style bike.
I'm interested in any ones opinion that have had similar issues with aging backs that just love to ride Harleys and have had to move to a different bike just to keep enjoying riding. The mc I'm interested in if I make the move is a RK classic.

Thanks in advance Steve
I had the same problem and ended up having surgery because I had no disc left between my spine and pelvis. If you haven't yet go see a good doctor and get an mri and find out what's causing the pain. After that if you can move up to the touring frame. It's like night and day difference. I used to ride sportsters and I loved them but I couldn't go back. This is the most comfortable bike I have ever owned and it handles like it's half it's size.
