Seriously tho, these engines were built to be rebuilt as often as you like. I can tear my bike down on the side of the road, with just a handful of common tools. If some one at the factory screwed up, I am only too glad to correct any issues. Unless you REALLY abuse them, they will last long enough for yer grand kids to ride.

If you want something that never breaks, maybe you should become more mechanically inclined, and build one in your garage. That's how Harley and Davidson did it...
Guys, this is starting to sound like the "Royal Enfield" forum.

why fix it ? you really don't like it. sell it as is . honda is having a really great car sell right now.
the union and harley employees have nothing to do with your misfortune.
look at nasa they spent millions on space shuttle with ton's of research it still blew up.
get over it and get on with it.

Do you actually think they'd sell for a penny less if they were non-Union?

Of course being a long time member of the Operating Engineers I guess I'm part of the problem eh?

Anything mechanical is subject to failure. The frequency of failure is the measure of the product quality which in this case does not seem prevalent. Our former HOG director hand a 124,000 plus miles on his bike when he sold it. That is good enough for me.

I just can't get excited over this...sometimes engines fail due to lack of maintenance, sometimes they just fail - defective part, Friday engine assembly, whatever the reason, mechanical things fail from time to time. Yeah, it sucks when it is yours that failed, but it happens. Deal with it.

My 99 FLHT has gotten 84,000 miles with an idiot maintaining it (me) I must have the good book (manual) and this web site with me on all projects. And my TC has been patient with my ignorance. TC's Junk ? yea right !

Have you ridden a Intruder lately ?
