The '05s also suffered from leaking valve guide seals. Did you let the oil get low? That also would have helped take the engine out.

I was thinking the same thing. Not saying you abused or mishandled the maintenance, but there might be something for us all to learn here. What oils do you use and how often did you change them?

I agree with him.... My ex-wife was a terrible wife and I am sure the union had something to do with it!!!

My GF is great but then again she has nothing to do with a union.

I had a lifter go on my 07 Road King at 40,000 Km. Wasn't the end of the world!
