Wouldn't mind seeing the maintenance done to the bike over the years, I know he said he maintained it but some think that changing the engine oil once a year is all you need to do.
I was thinking the same thing. Not saying you abused or mishandled the maintenance, but there might be something for us all to learn here. What oils do you use and how often did you change them?
I purchased a 2005 Electraglide standard new, I've keep it serviced and have ridden it with respect. NOW at 43,000 miles it starts knocking, so it needs cam bearings and possibly lifters valves and who know what else. As much as they cost you'd think they would go at least 100,000 mi. but I guess the UNION wants them to fail so they can build more new ones. When it's fixed I'm selling and purchasing an EVO.
Stop whinning & go make it right.Make the Bottom end bullet proof so you switch the top & make some serious HP/Tq. Now you have an excuse to go bigger & better!!!!
