As much as they cost you'd think they would go at least 100,000 mi. but I guess the UNION wants them to fail so they can build more new ones. When it's fixed I'm selling and purchasing an EVO.
Wise move.I've got a 92 fat boy that I'll never part with.Got 120000 on the clock and still problem free.

So what; the Hogs will live longer yet. My '05 tc88 has a Boyesen X-wing b4 the carb, tuned jets, 2-1 pipes, an Andrews 21 torque cam, and others have thought it was a 103 because of the way it runs. I expect to see about 150k b4 I bore her out and rework the heads and bearings.
It rocks when your powerband comes on at 1400 revs!

Seeing how this thread is 5 years old, I guess it's safe to hijack it.

The Twin Cam's only Achilles heel was the old spring loaded cam chain tensioners which has been corrected with the hydraulic tensioners. The earlier models are easily upgraded with gear drives or the later hydraulic set up. I have two twinkies and they have been the most dependable motorcycles I've ever owned, and I've been riding over 40 years. Twin Cams ain't junk!
They would be a lot better if Harley would put decent main, oil pump and cam bearings in them instead of cheap Chinese junk. That`s the crux of the Twin Cam engine problems.

How far did you have to search to pull up a 5 1/2 year old post?

Look for the union label...........local 399 IUOE, chicago
Only time in my life I haven't carried a union card is when I was working for the Commandant of the Marine Corps.
