Windshield and fairing get a warm towel soak in the morning. Just lay it on there and let it work for about 10 minutes.

+1 except mine gets it in the evening when we get to the hotel, I find it the perfect time for that first beer.

I hose 'er down if it's convenient. I'm not going to sit there and get it "show-ready" or anything, but sure - If I can get the caked-on crap off without putting much of a dent in the day, I'm all over it.

I wash the bike on the road when it's free, as was the case at Concord HD during Laconia bike week last year. Rode to and back from Laconia in the rain. I may get the bikini tarts to wash the bike this year.

Is it really about getting the bike clean??? Or do you just have an uncontrollable urge to rid your wallet of that dusty old 20 spot that has been in there WAY too long???

I don't clean mine too often when I'm on the road but sometimes you really need to pull over and clean the windshield.
