I have been looking (and saving) for some chrome goodies for my bike and love the look of chrome hand controls. The set harley sells can be bought for 475-500 shipped. The ones Custom Chrome sells can be bought for 160 shipped. seems like a big difference in price. I am concerned about the quality of the master cylinder in a "cheap" set of hand controls. I do like the price and can find alot of other shiny things to spend the 300 I saved on. Just wondering if anyone has these hand controls on their bike. they have been in business for over 40 years.

I bought a set for my Road King. Could not get them off fast enough. JUNK! You get what you pay for.

 

I had Custom Chrome controls on my bike for 4 years/45K miles and they were great; chrome looked new and m/c worked fine. I removed them when I completed the Brembo conversion on my '04 and replaced the hand controls with chrome plated OEM controls--Atlas plating in Houston did the chrome plating of the clutch perch and m/c; I had HD housings for the last couple of years after I added audio and cruise controls, and aftermarket levers.

silverbullit could help you with some detail on his problems with the hand controls from Custom Chrome that he removed.

Heck, HD's chrome isn't 100% perfect every time and much of it's made in China now.

I took a stock set of HD black controls including the levers, dismantled them and sent them out to Chromemasters to be SHOW chromed. They look BEAUTIFUL...200 times better than HD's wavy orange peeled chrome....cost $220 plus the shipping...cant beat it. Do it in the winter when ya have some downtime, or buy a used set off ebay or wherever.
