Exhaust Rattle - Coming from cross-pipe
Hey guys,
I have a 2010 RK with about 8,000 miles on it and I've been noticing a rattle coming from the cross-pipe under the bike that feeds the left-side exhaust.
I first noticed the rattle at around 6K miles. I pulled the mufflers and the cross-pipe, re-installed and re-tightened everything, and the rattle went away, until recently. It has come back, not as bad as before, but I'm starting to notice it again.
The rattle is worse when the bike is cold, after warm up it seems the metal expands and tightens everything up.
Have you guys experienced this rattle? Do you think some high-temp silicone on the exhaust fittings would help?
Thanks,
Alex

The angle L bracket is broke on the rear exhaust header located just about at the left primary cover / starter area. All Rineharts, Bassini, and V&H exhaust have this bracket and its very common for these to break. The L bracket is hose clamped onto the rear header pipe, they break at the 90 degree bend.

Maybe try some Permatex Copper Sealant on the joint. Use plenty of it and replace that TORCA special clamp. Double check and make sure the two exhaust port bolts are tightened to specs. I'd use a torque wrench to make sure you don't overtighten and snap the exhaust studs. That's where I'd start.

No there's no gasket on crossover .it was a quick fix. Thinking of using exhaust wrap around spot . Note it for stock head.
