I've been running the quiet baffle for a couple of years now. It is not quiet, even at idle it gets your attention. Mine is louder since I added the 103 and I suppose age has impacted it too but it was never quiet. Frankly, to ride all day I need ear plugs which is probably a good idea anyway. Don't get me wrong I like it and the power and quality are terrific but a little quieter would be ok with me.

Absolutely. Either the quiet or the concentric baffle is going to be louder than stock. Ear plugs are a must regardless.

I put the fat cats on mine at 12000 miles then at 13,000 miles went from 88in to 95in it started out kinda of quiet but now at 25,000miles it's way loud it just got louder and louder. I can't even hear the radio any more. I'm guessing that it burns the glass wrap or whatever they use on it off over time. I'm going to pull the baffle and re-wrap it. So if you have one and it's to quiet give it some time it'll get louder.

just did a engine upgrade on my 06 Ultra and got the QUIET baffle.
Only have the first 500 miles so far on it but it sounds great, plenty of tone to drop a gear beside the SM on the cell in her minivan and get her to notice me.
Getem from M&M cycle 419.624.8739 great guys tell "pain in the pipes" sent you.
Your going to wait 3 weeks to get them but worth the wait.

2009 FLTR with a D&D Boss w/standard baffle. Dude this thing is sooo freaking loud and it drives me nuts sometimes! When I fire this thing up in a crowd, everyone turns around to see WTF kind of pipe I'm running. I've seen one other D&D around here and that's it. I'm in Vance & Hines / Rinehart country

EDIT:there is no "right or wrong" baffle, just depends on what you want.
I have the standard baffle, and my wife loves it! Different strokes for different folks. I think my bike is quiet compared to the slip on that I had; however, it sounds much better IMO

You will love the D&D

Call Shawn at the shop and he can explain in more detail. He is the fatcat specialist around these parts.

The only thing I want Shawn to explain is "When will I get my D&D!" LOL. Impatiently waiting

Thanks for the great deal.
106TQ with 09 SE touring 4" slip-ons, we'll see what this baby adds, other than sound.

Where did you buy yours???
The Fatcat offers 4 different baffle choices. The Fatcat Boss offers 3 I think!!! You baffle choice will depend on your engine size, compression ratio,& head work. All this must be taken in consideration when choosing which baffle to run.The quieter the baffle the more restrictive it is on the exhaust flow!!! The louder it is, the more the exhaust flows!!! This is a general rule of thumb!!!

According to Leonard at D&D, the difference between the standard and quiet (wrapped) baffle is that the wrapped baffle is 15% quieter than the standard. Concentric baffles are designed for stock engine applications from what Leonard said when I was researching mine.
D&D pipes are known to be louder than some others, but as several have noted they do have a good sound. Also my builder stated that D&D is their go to pipe when they want to make sure they are hitting the numbers on a build.
I have a Boss Fatcat with a wrapped baffle on my stage II 103 build and it produces good results.

Where to buy, Dr V Twin of course, I dealt with Shawn on mine and the price and service were great.
