Never knew. Not sure I'm going to weigh all of my clothes and all that, but I guess it is something to consider.

Im surprised that in these times the MOCO hasn't given them a 5lb weight rating to cover their ***. I have seen more ridiculous things.

Dude we need to invent a refrigerated saddlebag for that 18 pack. Then we can eliminate the need for ice!

Screw the weight limits man....you're thinking too much!

The hanger bracket breaks repeatedly with these bags. I am not sure they should be rated for their own wieght. That said, I would carry what i need (in the neighborhood of 10-20lbs per side on road trips). I replaced the hanger bracket twice at $75 each time for a new bracket. The third time they broke, I just welded gussets where they break and haven't had a problem since.
Like HD should have done some 10 years ago when they knew they had a problem (kind of like the fairing brackets) - R u listening, HD?

well if you get a Coors Light BIG 18 pack you're over the weight limit. those cans are 16oz each! those things get heavy after lugging them around all day. im a beer truck driver, its what i do haha. and i thought i saw a cooler bag in the parts book that are made to fit the hard bags....but why not just put a drain hole(with a plug) and fill the bag up with ice and beer? and what is the weight limit on on a road king? im sure im right around it with out any cargo haha.

speaking of beer in the saddle bags, had a buddy drill drain holes into the bottom to drain the water out as the ice melts... as for beer, not for me, a bottle of Jack is lighter than beer weight wise anyway! hahahaha

But what if you're carrying feathers? What's the new weight limit then? Everybody knows that a pound of metal is heavier than a pound of feathers.

" a Pint is a pound the world around " is the rule of thumb when measuring a liquids weight. 2 cases max the bags out. 1 in each side bag and 1 in the tour pak.
