Default power commander and fuel mileage

I have a 00 RK with V&H True Duals, stage one and power Commander. I'm getting 38 MPG on third tank of gas since owning it. Most of my friends get 45-50 on their electra glide with out power commander. is 38 a good number with PC, or should I be getting better. Dealer said its good, but does seem right compared to others. I'm new to Harley and PC just curious what you are getting with PC. Does PC make that big of a difference to justify the lesser MPG. Thanks for your help!

If you are comparing your mileage to friends with newer TC88's it isn't apples to apples. I am not sure when but the mothership changed the gearing so the motor on your bike has to rev higher to sustain speed on the highway. I had a 2000 Ultra with similar eguipment (no true duals but all stage one) and got about the same as you. My friends, all with newer bikes, would beat me on the gas mileage race consistently.

I've never gotten 45 or 50 on my '08 Ultra. When it was new with out any mods or currently with a PCIII, Stage 1 AC and Jackpot pipes. I get about the same as you.

I think the folks claiming 50 might be "rounding" the numbers some

34 on my first tank with Stage 1. 37-38 before that. I ride to work 50 miles round trip. All interstate. 37-38 was average. I ride it like I stole it though.

Between the last two tanks (on '09 Ultra, PCV, slipons) 38 and 41. Windy as heck lately too.

Before, I was getting 43 stock.

I've not checked my mileage numbers, but find gas use between my bike ('09 FLTR w/Bub7 TD, Big Sucker AC, and PCV) and my wife's bike ('09 FLHX - stock) to be interesting. I feel the improved power in mine, yet SHE seems to get poorer mileage! When we ride together, she tends to need fuel before I do and takes more at the pump. These are essentially the same bikes, but mine has the Stage 1 upgrade. I would've expected just the opposite. Maybe her gear selection is less efficient?????....I have no other explanation.

I average 40-45mpg I have never gotten below 40mpg, my commute is 120miles round trip traveling mostly highways between 65-70mph. I have been seeing more 40mpg tank but I remapped my PC and added Stage1, plus is still a little chilli here in the mornings.
