Default Touring Sundowner Deep Bucket Seat

Hello, I have an 09 FLHR and I'm thinking about getting the 52093-08A Sundowner Deep Bucket Seat. I know it supposed to keep you from sliding back and forth and is comfortable, but does it lower the rider any closer to the ground? Also, does anyone have a suggestion for a passenger backrest (Part Number) I could get to go along with it. Thanks!

Yes it does lower you a bit. It's a very comfy seat. For the backrest you will need either a 2 point or 4 point docking hardware setup, an upright and a pad. For the pad, the smooth top stitched matches the Sundowner really well. I'd suggest 52627-09 for the backrest upright and I'd go with the 4 point docking hardware so if you want a tourpak later you're all set.

I will be replacing mine on a 09 FLHRC with a mustang. The seat was great but now that I changed my bars and I don't need to be any closer to alleviate the reach for the bars, I want to be back a little bit. If you want a seat let me know? Also if you are just trying to move closer to reach the bars better, which I feel is a common problem among ROad Kings I would change the bars first, but if you just want to go lower it is a great seat, the wife really loves it.

Thanks. I'm just wanting to get a little lower in the saddle and the comfort. The reach is not much of a problem, but I don't like the sliding back and forth on the standard seat. Could you tell me about how much you think it lowers you toward the ground from the standard seat. Thanks again!

I think I got almost an inch lower, though never really need to go lower just wanted to be closer to the bars. I am 6,2 and I think I could easily lose 4-5 inches from my legs and still be able to reach the ground.

Thanks Again! The local HD dealer I bought the bike from last year has a sale going on for it at $255 right now, so I think I'll go look at one. Appreciate your help.

I've tried way too many seats and have had seats re-worked, etc. But I must admit that the best seat I've ever used is the Sundowner. Got one on my SG and my FB... Money very well spent!!!

Seats are subjective. I don't care so much for the sundowner.

So far, I am happy with my Sundowner seat - though, I don't have that much time in the saddle on it yet... and the furthest I have ridden on in non-stop is @ 140 miles.

Seems comfy enough to date. And it has a nice and low seating height, which I absolutely love. No complaints either from the wife, regarding the passenger portion... We shall see how it goes as it breaks in / ages, and I have more miles on it.

BTW, I have the HD Large Smooth Passenger Backrest Pad (52886-96C) on the standard height detachable sissy bar (requires docking kit) - it's a nice match / compliment to the Sundowner seat.
