Maybe they don't want people seeing how hot these air cooled/catalytic stifled engines really run.

SO, it's agreed that the gauge sucks. Thank you all for your response.

Think of it as a "guide" rather than a gauge... understand your mileage and use the trip meter...

Yep, my gauge on the 2008 is not too accurate either - it points to "E" and the range meter still has 70 miles on it... I run the range meter down to "LO" before seeking gas, and it hasn't failed me yet.

+1 on the miles to empty feature on your trip computer. Your 2010 should have it. Seems to be pretty spot on.

Has anyone ever tried to "report" this under a warranty claim? My 2010 SG says its empty with over 2 gallons left in a 6 gallon tank......just wondering. Its a shame they put such a crappy guage on a bike that costs me over $25K. So much for "American made quality".

Have 03 Ultra, Always top off every 100 miles. Just a habit I have dont trust gauge at all and never did. I have went as far as 150 miles before fill up. But I have never went past that.88Cu,screamin eagle air, reinhart true duals and dynojet power commander.
Also have 03 Fatboy and gauge works perfect and has from day 1.
