Default Airhawk Cushion

I have an Ultra Limited and am considering an Airhawk Cushion, but I cannot determine whether to get a size Large or Medium. Does anyone know which size fits my seat better?

Any thoughts about the cushion would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Richard

Your money might be better spent sending the seat to Mean City Cycles to get redone. The 09/10 stock seats aren't very good. They can fix 'em.

Sorry. Can't help you with the Air Hawk size.

I have used the 14" by 14" and it actually works great on long hauls.

You should go with the large. I had one and it reallys helps on long hauls. My only grip was it sits you higher in the saddle and I got more wind buffering.

I heard medium somewhere on here as it has the same dimensions as the stock seat. It will be my next purchase. As for sitting higher,
(a little) if it has the right amount of air in it.

I think mine is the large - great product, but I'm getting my seat re-worked at the end of the month so I'll probably be selling it then.

A quick look at the chart on their fitment chart shows you can go with either, but I think the large would be best.

Large,
I bought one awhile back and used it for about two weeks then sold it on ebay.
Purchased a Road Zepplin seat and now I'm happy.

I have already gone the Mean City route. They told me beforehand that there was not much they could do to the new seats, but I sent it to them anyway. They were right. I just wasted my money. I gave the seat away and bought a new LOW seat, but I'm still searching for something more comfortable.

Thanks

I believe you will want the large. I've had one since 2000, it does a real nice job. The key is to get the air right. Too little means you bottom out, too much means you start to rise up and it feels like an inflatable pillow. I usually air mine part way up, then set it on a chair, picnic table, whatever, then sit on it and slowly release air until some part of me touches the surface below the AirHawk. Then I get off it, add just a touch of air, throw it on the seat and ride off. It also doubles as a pillow when I camp, I roll up my leather, lay it over the top with some extra air in it and sleep the night away.. Oh yeah, when I go to the races and football games it's my seat cushion, too.

I have the medium cruiser seat ( http://www.derbycycles.com/cgi-bin/e..._Seats&count=1) , actually two...one for the wife and one for me. That size fits both the front and rear seats nicely. We absolutely love ours. We've did a 830+ mile day last year and the airhawks made that possible. Just make sure you don't overfill it. I feel they are well worth the money.
